Pinot Gris is an expression of the vineyard and the barrel. My inspiration for the 2018 Pinot Gris was the great Fumé wines I discovered during my time in northern California. It is a testament to the quality of fruit and a winemaker's ability to develop character from the barrel.

In North America today, Pinot Gris or Pinot Grigio is a light-bodied, fresh and fruity wine. But I wanted to push it further to become a more complex, full-bodied and powerful wine.

The 2018 Pinot Gris was produced from grapes grown on the BTL vineyard in the heart of Niagara along what locals call "Creek Road," resulting in opulent aromas and a classic structure. The 2018 Pinot Gris grapes underwent a short period of skin contact. The grapes were gently pressed and introduced to cool fermentation until a portion was transferred into used French barrels and aged for three months. 

This Pinot Gris has sweet and spicy aromas. On the palate, flavors hint at vanilla extracted from an extended period on the lees. Floral and ripe pear add intrigue to this powerful and versatile white that effortlessly complements a table set for your most anticipated events.
